In situ Thermal Remediation

GEO used experience and knowledge gained from participating in the successful International Dense Non-aqueous Phase Liquid (DNAPL) Consortium to design and implement the first combined Steam Enhanced Extraction-Electrical Resistance Heating DNAPL remediation project in the United States. GEO performed the management and oversight at a former DOE research facility in Largo, Florida involving the installation of 28 electrode extraction wells, 21 electrode injection wells, 15 steam injection wells, 3 vertical electrical arrays, and 2 extraction wells within a 24 day period. At maximum effort, three auger rigs and one sonic rig were operating within a 2 acre vapor cap area requiring strategic coordination and planning.
